Martin, a first-generation Cuban-American, oversees investments, operations, sales and marketing for Terra, the real estate firm that he and his father, Pedro Martin, co-founded in 2001. In 2005, they purchased Miami’s Freedom Tower — a National Historic Landmark where hundreds of thousands of immigrants were processed — and donated the building to Miami Dade College for use as a museum.

Their firm’s real estate projects include luxury high-rises, single-family homes, retail shopping centers, office space and multifamily apartments.

Martin is a leader of the team that in July 2019 won unanimous approval from the Miami Beach Design Review Board to build a hotel — designed by Arquitectonica — at the Miami Beach Convention Center. And his vision of sustainable development is behind Grove Central, a solar-powered transportation hub with affordable housing, designed by Touzet Studio and planned for the Metrorail station near the intersection of U.S. 1 and Southwest 27th Avenue.

In North Beach, Terra’s residential tower, Eighty Seven Park — designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano and abutting the Atlantic Ocean and Miami Beach’s North Shore Open Space Park — is expected to be completed this year.
