Terra’s newly completed Renzo Piano-designed Eighty Seven Park development in Miami Beach was also selected as an award finalist in the “Best Architecture & Design” category


MIAMI, FL – November 2020 – The South Florida Business Journal has named Terra as “Developer of the Year” as part of this year’s 2020 Structures Awards. The annual awards program, which honors the real estate industry’s top businesses and individuals in the tri-county region, recognized Terra as a community builder and an innovator – bringing to life projects that are confronting some of the most pressing challenges facing our region, from transit and mobility, to affordability and climate resiliency.


In addition to being recognized as the recipient of this year’s Developer of the Year award, Terra’s newest completed luxury condo development, the Renzo Piano-designed Eighty Seven Park tower in Miami Beach’s North Beach neighborhood, was also selected as a finalist in the Best Architecture & Design category.

Now in its fifth year, the prestigious Structures Awards program recognizes South Florida’s premier projects, deals, dealmakers, and industry professionals across the real estate industry in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. The annual awards program hosts 15 categories including Dealmaker of the Year, The Terry Styles Deal of the Year, Developer of the Year, Community Impact, Best Affordable Residential Project, Best Market Rate Residential Project, Best Green Project, Best Reuse/Rehab, Best Office / R&D Project, Best Industrial Project, Best Retail Project, Best Single Family Custom Home, Best Hospitality Project, Best Architecture & Design, and Best Mixed-Use Project.


Terra’s regional reach and roadmap for South Florida’s long-term sustainability can be seen in the firm’s past year and a half of development, which spans all asset classes in several communities:


  • In Coconut Grove, the firm has sold out two condos, Grove at Grand Bay and Park Grove; converted an underutilized parking garage into the Grove’s first Class A office building in decades – Mary Street; launched construction of a new project combining workforce housing, retail, and a revamped Metrorail station – Grove Central; and kicked-off sales for a new residential development in partnership with the Cipriani Family – Mr. C Residences.
  • In Miami Beach, Terra defied the odds last year by winning public support to build a long-awaited convention hotel with 800-rooms (marking the City’s third attempt to win approval); late last year, Terra opened the doors to Eighty Seven Park, the Renzo Piano-designed condo which is helping fuel the revitalization of North Beach; and next year, Terra and Crescent Heights will begin building the Canopy Club, a mixed-use project that will include a 3-acre public park, retail, and residences in Miami Beach.
  • Further west, in Doral, Terra is developing two lifestyle-driven retail destinations, Doral Square and Atrium Doral.
  • Terra is equally active in Broward, where the firm recently completed its newest 387-unit multifamily community in Pembroke Pines called Pines Garden at City Center, which sits alongside its 47-acre Pines City Center master-planned retail development. Nearby, the firm is also developing another mixed-use lifestyle retail development called 16000 Pines Market; and construction is coming to a close at Botaniko, a master planned residential community in Weston with 125 contemporary estate homes.
