Pembroke Pines is one of the largest municipalities in Broward County, both in terms of size and population. The city limits stretch from the Florida Turnpike all the way past I-75 to the Everglades conservation area at the county’s western border. This means that the more than 170,000 residents who call Pembroke Pines home are spread out over a large east-to-west area. Pines City Center was designed to centralize and unite the community with an 80-acre master-planned village that would act as a hub for retail businesses, dining, and entertainment, and connected market-rate rental housing in the city’s main downtown district.
